why do cat's hate water???

if the rain coming or if i take them to the bathroom, my cat always run out and become so annoying. i know that cat don't like water. but why? they can swim, my cat can swim at pool behind my home even they don't want to do that (they fallin from the rooftop).

from the article that i have read...it says that cat don't need baths.They clean themselves and giving them baths unless they have fleas, ticks, or something really sticky or nasty in their fur is harmful to their skin. but not all cat hate water. There are some cats that really love water. Others are curious about it but don't exactly like the idea of being plunged in icy or burning water without their permission. Some cats, like mine, will jump in a shallow bath and poke around in the water for a bit out of curiosity on his own terms.
