my parent, my friends, and my relatives always say to me, "don't too close with cats", either my own cats or other cats. the reason is, they afraid i'll infect by toxoplasma disease. i have read one article which write, not only cats can infect by toxoplasma, but other animals like dog, cow, mouse, chicken, pig etc can infect too.
toxoplasmosis or toxoplasma is is a disease of cats and other mammals caused by a parasitic protozoan, "Toxoplasma gondii".Toxoplasma gondii is a species of parasitic protozoa in the genus Toxoplasma. cat can contract with toxoplasmosis by Eating tissue cysts in infected prey or in other raw meat is probably the most common way cats are exposed to Toxoplasmosis. Congenital infection, i.e. transmission from mother to fetus, does occur in sheep, goats, and humans, but is much less common in cats. you can treat your cat from Toxoplasmosis with give cat two drugs, Pyrimethamine and Sulfadiazine, used together. reatment must be started as soon as possible after diagnosis and continued for several days after signs have disappeared.
