Maneki Neko

The Maneki Neko (招き猫, literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money cat or Fortune Cat) is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of porcelain or ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The sculpture depicts a cat (traditionally a Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—many times at the entrance—in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. A raised right paw supposedly attracts money, while a raised left paw attracts customers.

Maneki Neko come in different colors, styles, and degrees of ornateness. In addition to sculptures, Maneki Neko can be found as keychains, piggy banks, air fresheners, and miscellaneous ornaments.

nine lives

if we watch cartoon in television which the character is cat and mouse and they always have some confrontation. the mice either the cat always try to drop each other. one thing that make me confused, why they never death? for cats there is some belief/myth that they have nine lives in some cultures it is seven.

This myth is believed to be true because cats are supple and swift creatures which helps the cat get out of situations that would be fatal for other beings. Also lending credence to this myth is that falling cats often land on their feet because of an inbuilt automatic twisting reaction and are able to twist their bodies around to land feet first, though they can still be injured or killed by a high fall.

black cat, good luck or bad luck?

different people believe different things. some say good luck like in Europe, apart in Italy or Spain, a black cat crossing one's path is considered GOOD luck; however they were also seen by the church as associated with witches. Black cats (and sometimes, other animals of the same color, or even white cats) were sometimes suspected of being the familiars of witches. The black cat was still usually seen as GOOD luck.
In places which saw few witch hunts, black cats retained their status as GOOD luck, and are still considered as such in Britain and Ireland. Beside that Researchers at the National Institutes of Health discovered the gene mutations associated with a black coat in three types of black cats: the domestic cat, jaguar and South American jaguarundi. The mutations affect a gene in the same family as one that causes a resistance to HIV in humans.
But in America, the black cat represents bad luck because black represents evil and witches familiars were also depicted as black cats. it's all depend on your belief, but i think that superstition is totally wrong. good luck and bad luck came from yourself, and with what way you solve your problem and your thought.

why do cat's hate water???

if the rain coming or if i take them to the bathroom, my cat always run out and become so annoying. i know that cat don't like water. but why? they can swim, my cat can swim at pool behind my home even they don't want to do that (they fallin from the rooftop).

from the article that i have read...it says that cat don't need baths. They clean themselves and giving them baths unless they have fleas, ticks, or something really sticky or nasty in their fur is harmful to their skin. but not all cat hate water. There are some cats that really love water. Others are curious about it but don't exactly like the idea of being plunged in icy or burning water without their permission. Some cats, like mine, will jump in a shallow bath and poke around in the water for a bit out of curiosity on his own terms.
